Tata Punch 2026: New Facelift, EV Model, Price & Latest Updates
Tata Motors has officially launched the much-awaited 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift in India, and it is one of the most exciting affordable electric SUV updates we have seen in a long time. With a fresh new look, bigger battery options, more features, and — surprisingly — lower prices than before, the new Punch EV is making a very strong case for itself in 2026.
What’s New in the 2026 Tata Punch EV Facelift?
The 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift was launched on February 20, 2026, priced from ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom) — with BaaS pricing starting even lower at ₹6.49 lakh. This is actually a price cut compared to the outgoing model, making the deal even sweeter.
On the outside, the facelift brings a noticeably cleaner and more mature design. Up front, the new Punch EV features LED DRLs connected by a black strip, stacked headlamps positioned in triangular pods, and a redesigned front bumper. At the rear, the facelift now gets connected LED taillights similar to the ICE-powered Punch, along with a revised bumper featuring a rugged textured silver skid plate.
Bigger Battery, Better Range
This is the biggest highlight of the 2026 update. The Punch EV facelift is now available with a new 40 kWh battery pack offering an ARAI-certified range of 468 km and a real-world C75 range of 355 km. A smaller 30 kWh pack is also available, rated at 365 km ARAI range. The electric motor puts out 127 BHP, allowing a 0–100 km/h sprint in under 9 seconds. Tata also offers three drive modes — City, Eco and Sport — along with four regenerative braking levels.
Fast charging takes the Punch EV from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes using a 65 kW DC fast charger, with a 15-minute top-up delivering approximately 135 km of real-world range.
Interior & Features
Inside, the cabin gets a thoughtful refresh. The 2026 Punch EV gets a 2-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, touch-based AC controls, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include cruise control, paddle shifters, connected car technology, push-button start/stop, six standard airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold, ESC, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Variants & Price Breakdown
The 2026 Punch EV is offered in five variants — Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+S. With the battery included, prices range between ₹9.69 lakh and ₹12.59 lakh (ex-showroom). For those opting for BaaS pricing, the EV starts at ₹6.49 lakh with battery usage charged at ₹2.6 per km.
Colours on Offer
The 2026 Punch EV facelift is available in seven colour options — Fearless Yellow, Bengal Rouge, Caramel, Empowered Oxide, Supernova Copper, Pure Grey, and Pristine White — with three new shades added to the palette.
Should You Buy It?
If you are looking for an affordable, feature-packed electric SUV with genuine long-range capability, the 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift makes a very compelling argument. With more features, more range, and prices actually lower by around ₹2.5–3 lakh compared to the outgoing model, the updated Punch EV strengthens its position as a real value-for-money option in India’s growing EV space. Add to that a lifetime HV battery warranty, and it is hard to ignore.
